Almighty God, who hast promised that when we are passing through the waters thou wilt be with us, and that they shall not overflow us, do thou be my help and Saviour now in this time of trouble. I need thy grace and thy strong hand.
Uphold me and do not let me fall into despair or bitterness or the mire of self-pity.
Renew in me hope and faith; give me the assurance of thy presence, and courage to face
bravely the trials of the days to come; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
